We often know the object.
We rarely know the place that made it possible.
Or the people whose knowledge shaped it.
Some of the world's most remarkable ways of making were born in places that changed how we dress, build, cook and create. Yet over time, those places have become quieter than the objects they gave the world.
We wanted to understand them differently.
Not through museums or monuments, but through the people who continue to live and work there.
Kala Huis was created from that curiosity.
Not simply to create clothing and fragrance, but to reconnect them with the places, people and ways of making that gave them meaning.
